We look at current events and trends and take a broad view of what those things mean to the Kingdom. We will attempt to answer the question: “Why should Christians care about this?” The answer to this question cuts both ways. Either it is a subject that Christians care too much about and shouldn’t, or don’t care enough about and should.

With protests against statements everywhere from Berkeley to Catholic Universities, why are we suddenly so afraid of hearing people with whom we disagree? Ryan and Phillip go in-depth on this issue and demonstrate that dissenting voices are valuable in both the public square and the theological realm. 

In HHIEOY Phill takes on Oklahoma's new fees on child support and Ryan praises Steve Gaines for his stand against a Confederate statue in Memphis. 

On segment four it's back to school, and the guys talk about how we can support teachers in the coming school year.

Breaking News. According to multiple reports, President Trump has reached an agreement with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to extend legislatively the protections afforded by DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). In exchange for his support, reportedly, President Trump has asked for greater border security that does not include funding for a wall on the southern border. At posting, the White House has disputed the report that the wall has not be included in the deal and has not fully confirmed DACA protections.

Alan Cross joins Phillip to discuss this breaking news and the path forward.

Our country is amazing in that we have the uncanny ability to rally around disaster or tragedy. These times bring us together to alleviate suffering and show us at our best.

Those moments of unity are fleeting and pass as the tragedy or event fades from memory and into history. As Jesus people, we are called to unify under the gospel. How can we as Jesus people move the unity from fleeting moments to a sustainable movement?
